First Post! Welcome!

Hey guys! (whomever you might be)

For the ten of you who want to see and learn how to COUPON here goes! My friend Ashley made me sit through an episode of “Extreme Couponing” on TLC (the learning channel), 20 minutes into it I was completely hooked. “Hey, I can do that.” During my stay at her house in Maryland I followed her around shopping and watched what she did. I couldn’t wait to go home and start practicing everything I learnt.

First thing I did when I got home was go straight to Walmart and find a very nice binder with a zipper and a carry one strap. Lucky enough it was back to school season and I found a super nice one for about $15 bucks. I had A LOT of trouble looking for “coupon holders” which are basically baseball card plastic things. The only place I found them was Kmart. 30 sheets for 4 or 5 dollars I cannot remember. I also found some nice ones on ebay.

The second thing I did was order the Waterbury Republican Thurs/Sun subscription and the Hartford Courant. TO BE HONEST, The WTBY Rep. sucks for coupons. Half the time they don’t even get them. However the Hartford Courant.. amazing! Half the time I find myself running to the gas station and picking up a New Haven Register because they also always have the coupon inserts. I’ve called and complained to the WTBY Repub like the crazy coupon lady I am, and they don’t really care. There are also clipping services and ebay to order coupons… Which are really only good if you know the sales ahead of time and/or want to build a backlog of coupons for upcoming sales.

Ordering Coupons from places can be hit or miss. I have been lucky and have tracked down almost everyone I live near and relatives who don’t want their coupons to save them for me. Most of them know by now I’m crazy for coupons and save them for me hoping I find a bunch of freebie deals. Usually the people who help me out with coupons, I throw them a bunch of freebies that I find.  If you want to order coupons, lemme know and I’ll post a few sites that I have ordered from.

The other way to get coupons, are coupon websites, and you print them yourself. They allow you usually to print the same coupon twice. Then you will get “print limit reached” Please don’t make copies of them, its fraud and you can get in serious trouble if you do it. Just warning!

Many times you can go straight to the company’s website and they will have links for coupons. Or you can contact the company directly. Don’t laugh it works! I actually sent in an email telling them about a new brand of Coffee mate creamer “Natural Bliss, Sweet Cream” and I used to a coupon to purchase it. It was the worst creamer I have ever tasted in my life, I actually dumped it out. They sent me coupons for the other Coffee mate creamer that I love and apologized. Now that won’t always happen but company’s do appreciate feedback from their customers. Thanking you and sending you free samples and free coupons in the mail.

So you have a coupon binder, and coupons.. now you just have to go and find the deals and go shopping! Oh wait, that’s why you are reading this so I can tell you where to go and pick the deals up! J
If you are looking for a nice guide on how to organize your binder, head over to www.krazycouponlady.com that’s what I did. I don’t follow it completely but it definitely is a great place to start and you can customize it anyway you want.
